Silent, slow, and graceful, the Red Rebels symbolise the common blood we share with all species. As such we move as one, act as one and, most importantly, feel as one.
We look ahead with a ‘thousand yard stare’, seeing the world as it could be, and as it is behind the veil of illusion, beneath the thin facade of concrete, steel and glass. We display sadness and grief at the loss of life caused by the climate crisis, as well as hope for a better future. We create powerful imagery, drawing attention to the beauty in all things. For many people, seeing the Red Rebels is an emotional experience. It can add a lot of impact to actions.
Being a Red Rebel may look like a big commitment but we offer support with obtaining and making a costume. Once you are in your headdress it’s not as hard as you think to walk slowly! Join our Facebook group or email us if you’d like to give it a try.
