We do lots of different things in XR Birmingham! Click the buttons below to explore our different activities.
What We’re Doing
Movement of Movements
In XR we use non-violent direct action (NVDA) to persuade organisations to act on climate change. Other groups are working to similar goals with different methods. We often join together for actions and many of our members are also involved in these other groups.
Some of the groups we collaborate with in Birmingham are:
- Stop HS2
- Youth Strike for Climate
- COP26 Coalition West Midlands
- Kill the Bill
- Zero Hour (CEE Bill Alliance)

Extinction Rebellion Birmingham

Extinction Rebellion is a mass movement that uses non-violent civil disobedience to demand action by the government on mass extinction and to minimise the risk of social collapse.
Join XR Brum and XR Wyre Forest in the audience for an evening featuring bands with social justice on their minds. Specially recommended - Rebel & the Banned.

Come and drum with Brum Beats on Sunday 25th of January! No experience or instruments needed – just come along and experience the uniting energy of rhythms. This is a free event, all welcome!
Only one week to go until our next big day of action! On Wednesday 10 July from 11am in Victoria Square, we’ll be back in Birmingham with powerful street theatre to expose how insurance companies are fuelling the climate crisis instead of protecting us.![]()
This is your reminder to join us for a striking action featuring a funeral procession with a coffin, funeral drummer, flower-laying, and costumes (think black clothes and top hats). Together, we’ll mourn what is being lost, then celebrate what could be saved with dancing, drumming and a joyful awakening of hope for the future.![]()
The dress code is black. As always, please bring along any banners, placards, etc.
