On Thursday we visited Barclays on the High Street once again to remind them of the colossal damage their fossil fuel investments are causing around the world. Rebels set up a ‘climate crime scene’ complete with tape and a chalked corpse outline, pointing out how climate change causes extreme weather events which are already killing millions of people around the world.
XR’s new immediate demand is to end fossil fuel investment, as this is the most critical thing we need to do to reduce our carbon emissions and limit the increase in global temperatures.
We had lots of interest from the public and some great discussions about switching banks, which anyone can look into at switchit.green.
